One killed in crash on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County

ST. JOHNS – A motorist was killed around midday Friday in a rollover crash on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County, according to police.

The crash happened around 12:30pm on Interstate 81 southbound near milepost 150.6, near the I-80 interchange.

According to State Police at Hazleton, a vehicle was headed southbound when it swerved, struck an embankment and rolled onto its driver’s side.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No information regarding the vehicle or the driver was provided.

State troopers were assisted by Valley Regional Fire and EMS.
