Topeka hosts a community taco feast

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The community came together this weekend to share a little positivity with those affected by the SNAP shutdown.

“Feed the people Topeka” hosted a community taco feast at the Gil Carter Initiative. With help from people who donated food volunteers served up tacos to those affected by the government shutdown.

“I just want people to be able to come and enjoy, whether they take a plate to go or whether they stay here and enjoy.” Taz Isom, Feed the people community organizer says, “we will have music playing, we will have some games here as well that they can play and enjoy with their family.”
