“Feed the people Topeka” hosted a community taco feast at the Gil Carter Initiative. With help from people who donated food volunteers served up tacos to those affected by the government shutdown.
“I just want people to be able to come and enjoy, whether they take a plate to go or whether they stay here and enjoy.” Taz Isom, Feed the people community organizer says, “we will have music playing, we will have some games here as well that they can play and enjoy with their family.”
“It’s very nice and refreshing for neighbors to come together, organizations would reach out and help those who need something.” Erma Forbes, founder of Gil Carter Initiative says “I think it’s a wonderful thing.”
