This is the first time the faith-based organization will provide shelter for those experiencing homelessness without its day center, which closed down over the summer.
Shelter will be provided by its two residential facilities: Freedom House for Men and Grace House for women.
“Changes were made and we closed the day center,” said Neil Richardson, director of SafeHouse Ministries.
He added, “And moving everything by vans back our individuals shelters. So this will be our first chance, if we make a mistake, if we got a bug in the system, we can fix it. We’re always learning on the go.”
SafeHouse Ministries will be operating vans and take those who are unhoused to the facilities around 3 p.m.
