
Already Monday morning, several crashes on the interstate slowed traffic. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Monday.
One issue on the east side of Indianapolis involved I-70 eastbound near mile marker 92.3 between North German Church Road and North Mitthoeffer Road.
Indiana State Police said injuries were reported in the three-vehicle incident. The right lane was closed, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
INDOT’s traffic map indicated a crash on I-70 westbound near mile marker 88.7 in the area of Shadeland Avenue and Arlington Avenue. Two center lanes were closed. The scene cleared by around 6:10 a.m. About 15 minutes later, INDOT said all lanes were slow in the area.
INDOT reported a crash on I-465 northbound at mile marker 43.6 between I-70 and East 30th Street. The right lane was closed.
On the northeast side, INDOT reported a crash on I-465 eastbound just north of 75th Street. The area had cleared by 6:25 a.m.
On the southeast side, the entrance ramp from Brookville Road to I-465 southbound was slow due to a crash.
INDOT also reported a crash on the southwest side on I-465 northbound at mile marker 10.8 just north of the Sam Jones Expressway. Two left lanes were closed in the northbound direction.
South of Indianapolis, in Johnson County, a crash closed northbound I-65 around mile marker 99, which is near the Greenwood exit.
INDOT reported all northbound lanes were closed. A photo from the scene showed a semi trailer was sitting on its side across the interstate.
Greenwood police responded to the scene. Authorities urged drivers to use US 31 as an alternative.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said two lanes of I-65 southbound were closed due to a crash. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use extra caution near mile marker 135.5.
