Baton Rouge Weather: Cold air arrives, bringing first freeze of the season
TONIGHT: Skies will be clear with breezy conditions overnight. Lows will fall to the upper 30s for most neighborhoods. Breezy winds will make it feel like the upper 20s and low 30s overnight.
MONDAY: It will be a cold start in the morning with temperatures only climbing to the low 50s in the afternoon hours. It will still be breezy at times, making it feel more like the 40s through out the day. There will be plenty of sunshine. Monday night, temperatures will drop into the upper 20s and low 30s, bringing the first frost and freeze of the season for most across south Louisiana and southwest Mississippi. PROTECT THE THREE P’s: Plants, pets, and people.
LOOKING AHEAD: Not a fan of the cold? Just wait a few more days and temperatures will rise quickly. Highs will be back in the 70s on Wednesday, even upper 70s by Thursday. Our next chance for rain will likely be next weekend – late Saturday, into early Sunday. There is a signal for a severe weather risk as well. Be sure to check back for updates through the week!
THE TROPICS:
All is quiet in the tropics as we finish out the last month of hurricane season. No tropical activity is expected over the next seven days.
