ABC4) — A 29-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision in southern Idaho’s Elmore County on Saturday, according to Idaho State Police.
At around 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 8, police responded to a crash on I-84 near milepost 110 in Elmore County.
A Canton, Texas, man, 55, driving a white Dodge Ram pickup towing a travel trailer, was reportedly heading eastbound on I-84 when he went out of his lane and into oncoming traffic. In the opposite lane, a Garden City, Idaho, man, 29, was driving a tan 1995 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on I-84.
The driver of the Ram crashed head-on into the Silverado, police said, causing both vehicles to become fully engulfed in flames.
The Garden City man, 29, died at the scene, police said. The driver of the Ram was taken to a local hospital via air ambulance.
All lanes were closed for around three hours after the crash. Elmore County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted in the response.
This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police. No further information is available at this time.
