
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Officers with the United States Marshal’s Office reportedly shot one person in the area of 3800 South and 5600 West.
The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Apprehension Team (VFAST) were serving an arrest warrant for a “violent fugitive” when the shooting occurred. No officers were injured, but a suspect was shot during the confrontation. The suspect has been rushed to the hospital, according to U.S. Marshal Supervisory Deputy Mark Thomson.
There remains an active police presence in the area of the shooting and multiple organizations are on-scene as part of the investigation. The Salt Lake County OICI Protocol team is also on scene and investigating.
They have not released any additional information at this time, but Supervisory Deputy Mark Thomson says there is no threat to the public at this time
