He’s Mike the Tiger at LSU.
WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood spent the day with Mike.
He is at home across the street from Tiger Stadium, of course.
He lives in a 1,500 square foot sanctuary with two swimming pools and a stream and a comfort rock that gets cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
His day includes posing for photos with fans.
They can’t get enough of the only real-life Tiger mascot at any college in the USA.
“Just like the cats in your household, when he wans to love you, he wants to love you and when he’s done he goes on about his day,” said LSU Veterinarian student Baylee Weems.
Mike arrived from a Florida sanctuary in the summer of 2017. In the long line of tigers who’ve become Mike, this Mike is number 7.
Other than game day, his favorite day is Thanksgiving Day.
That’s when the gets to dine on a whole turkey.
He love turkey as much as Louisiana loves LSU.
