Hardaway High School head football coach resigns
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Muscogee County School District announced Friday that Head Football coach Will Whilden has resigned his role with the Hardaway High School football program.

Officials say that during his tenure, Whilden helped build a strong culture rooted in teamwork and perseverance. The Hawks’ record sits at 1-9 this season.

“It has been an honor to coach at Hardaway High School,” Coach Whilden said. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m especially proud of the young men who’ve represented this program with pride and heart. I will always be a supporter of Hardaway football.”

Whilden took over this school year as head coach after Ryan McKenzie. When the new coach begins, it’ll be the school’s fourth coach since 2021.

The district says the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
