Turnpike Tussle soccer ends in 0-0 draw

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Turnpike Tussle was out on the pitch tonight at Yager Stadium.

The No. 16 Washburn Ichabods hosted the Emporia State Hornets for their senior night and both squads last regular season game of the year.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw with less than 20 seconds remaining due to an injury.

Emporia State recorded its third consecutive shutout draw and the ‘Bods earned its third-straight shutout.

Washburn finishes the regular season undefeated in conference play. The Hornets end the season 5-2-2 in MIAA play.

The Turnpike Tussle is back again at Yager Stadium on Nov. 9 for the first round of the MIAA Tournament. The ‘Bods are the second seed and the Hornets are the seven seed. Kickoff is set for 1 PM.
