Parish officials announced on Thursday, Nov. 6, that the advisory is the result of repair work being done.
The following streets are impacted:
An advisory is usually issued when water pressure drops below 20 psi. Officials add that it is unknown how long the line will be isolated for repairs.
“Once service has been restored and normal operating pressure is reestablished, the water is tested for contamination. While it is unlikely, contaminants can enter the distribution system through back-siphonage,” said parish officials.
Residents in the impacted area are being advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before consumption.
