Flynn’s medical career started in 1967 in Baton Rouge, serving as the only board-certified neurosurgeon between the city and Shreveport. He later founded the medical center in 1978, intending to bring together leading neurological and neurosurgical specialists in the region.
“Dr. Flynn’s vision built a medical institution run by physicians focused on patients with a legacy of quality, excellence and compassion,” said Dr. Kelly Scrantz, president of The NeuroMedical Center. “His statesmanship and vision are rooted in the foundation created nearly five decades ago. He would have said, and we agree, that our best days are ahead of us and his vision will be the guiding light for The NeuroMedical Center in the next fifty years.”
Flynn received recognition for his philanthropy as he supported nonprofits and educational institutions.
The NeuroMedical Center is located at 10101 Park Rowe Ave. in Perkins Rowe. The facility serves over 125,000 patients each year across the region.
