YOUNGSVILLE, LA. (KLFY) — KLFY’s Athlete of the Week honors Southside’s quarterback Parker Dies.

In Southside’s win over Carencro the Sharks put up 70 points and got their 7th win of the season, 70-35. Dies aided his team to victory by rushing for 297 yards and scoring two touchdowns on 12 carries.

“Coach’s game plan was really good for us, so we followed the game plan executed and when he called to play.” Dies said. “You know, plays were there for us, every single one of them, every time called Plays, it was open. So we executed, and that’s what led to us getting so many big runs.”

Coach Jess Curtis shared how Dies is a star athlete in all sports he pursues and how he has grown as leader a amongst his peers.

“Parker’s is outstanding. I mean, just unbelievable. Total sport, athlete, football, baseball, and what’s really been great about him is his leadership this year.” Curtis said. “You know, that’s kind of where he’s matured and turning that team leader. You know, he feels like he’s the best player on the field every Friday night. And he goes out, makes plays for us and puts this thing forward.”

So far in the season the Sharks totaled almost 700 yards of offense and look to continue the rise to the top of District 3-5A, when they take on NISH in the regular season finale.
