Gonzales police seek help with 2023 deadly shooting investigation
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Gonzales Police Department is seeking the public’s help with an investigation of a deadly shooting that happened in 2023.

Craig Haynes Jr., of Darrow, died from injuries sustained in a shooting that happened around 11 p.m. Dec. 8, 2023, on Burnside Highway between E. Neal Street and E. Worthy Road. He died on the day after the shooting.

Before the shooting, Haynes was heading north when his vehicle was hit by gunfire, which led to it crashing into the parking lot at Big River.

Police are looking for any information about a light-colored 2004–2008 Honda Civic that was seen close to where the shooting took place. Detectives believe that the people inside the car could have information about the case, as it was seen around the time of the shooting.
