TOOELE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A Salt Lake City woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly called the Tooele County Courthouse and threatened to blow it up.
Dorothy Godwin Ikwen, 43, is charged with threat of terrorism, a second-degree felony, and threat against a judge, a third-degree felony.
The Tooele City Police Department responded to a call from the Tooele County Courthouse on Oct. 30, documents say. Over the phone, the reporting party told police that Ikwen had called and threatened to blow up the courthouse and kill the judge.
According to the arrest statement, Ikwen had identified herself during the phone call and stated that she “knows where the judge lives.” The judge whom she was threatening reportedly oversaw a case that involved Ikwen.
After taking the report, the Tooele Police contacted the Salt Lake City Police Department for assistance. Ikwen lived at an apartment complex in Salt Lake City, and was located there by law enforcement.
While police attempted to take Ikwen into custody, she allegedly resisted arrest by “straightening her legs and refusing to get into” the police vehicle. She was transported to the Tooele City Police Department for an interview.
After questioning, Ikwen was booked into the Tooele County Jail, where she is being held without bail.
