PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — A South Salt Lake man is facing a felony charge after allegedly texting a former manager that he was going to “blow up” his place of work.
Vincent Bath, 44, is charged with one count of threat of terrorism, a second-degree felony.
According to court documents, on Sept. 4, 2025, a manager at a restaurant in Provo contacted the Provo Police Department regarding a threatening message.
The text allegedly read, “You f— b—, I’m gonna blow up your restaurant.”
Although the message came from an unknown number, the manager believed that Bath, who had been fired nearly two years ago in October 2023, had sent the message. The manager told police that the text “sounded like” Bath.
An officer with the Provo Police Department called Bath and asked about the threatening message. Bath allegedly responded that he was “just trying to rattle” the manager, and given the context, the manager “should have known the text came from” him.
Bath was not arrested for the alleged message, but the police report was forwarded to the Utah County Attorney so they could review charges on Oct. 9. The second-degree felony charge was filed today, and Bath will be summoned for a court appearance.
There is no further information at this time.
