Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, 28, of India, is facing a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm while traveling on an aircraft.
The alleged incident happened on Lufthansa flight 431 en route from Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany.
Usiripalli allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old boy in the shoulder with a metal fork on the flight.
He’s accused of stabbing a second 17-year-old boy in the back of the head with the same fork.
Usiripalli allegedly formed a gun with his fingers and pulled an imaginary trigger while the flight crew was attempting to subdue him.
The flight was diverted to Boston and he was taken into custody.
Usiripalli was previously admitted to the United States on a student visa and the Department of Justice said he does not presently have lawful status in the U.S.
