OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — The second of two parents accused of killing their 2-month-old baby girl has turned himself in to authorities.

Broussard and the baby’s mother, Kaylee Fontenot, are accused of severe neglect and physical abuse. Fontenot was taken into custody earlier.

An autopsy revealed extreme dehydration and malnourishment, broken rib bones, some showing signs of healing, and a severed lower spine, resulting in internal bleeding and ultimately, death, officials said.

Officers said they responded to a medical emergency Oct. 25 in the 200 block of N. Liberty Street, where they found the infant girl not breathing. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
