BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Do you pay taxes in Louisiana? If so, you could be eligible to claim uncashed state income tax refunds.

According to the Louisiana Treasury, there are unclaimed refunds for 27,171 taxpayers in the state. Officials said uncashed state income tax refunds in the amount of $8.76 million have been added to the unclaimed property program via the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

“This $8.76 million belongs to the people of Louisiana, and we are eager to assist them in rightfully claiming their money,” said Treasurer John Fleming.

These funds are available and accessible to individuals right now. Residents can check to see if they are eligible for a refund on this website or by calling 888-925-4127.
