Police say the four victims were outside in the 3400 block of North Clark Street around 1:45 a.m. Sunday when an unidentified offender got out of a white pickup truck and fired gunshots before fleeing the scene northbound.
According to police, a 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were each shot in the arm, a 29-year-old woman was shot in the leg and a 25-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. All four were taken to area hospitals and listed in fair condition.
“I woke up to like somewhere between seven to 10 loud pops going off. It was like 1:45 (a.m.). They were loud pops but definitely not fireworks, so I figured something bad was happening. I heard a car speed off and thought that can’t be good,” resident Andy Diederich said.
Nearby businesses either did not catch the shooting on surveillance video or were unable to share their footage with WGN-TV.
“It’s not an indication of this neighborhood or this city. I don’t think people have anything to worry about, it’s just the world we live in. These things are going to happen, and stay safe out there,” Diederich said.
Nobody is in custody, police say, and area detectives are investigating.
