Downtown Jackson road closures planned for National Folk Festival

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – There will be temporary street closures in downtown Jackson for the 82nd National Folk Festival, which will be held November 7-9, 2025.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), crews will begin placing street closures for the festival on November 3, 2025.

Officials said access to downtown Jackson from the I-55 Pearl Street exit will be limited beginning at 10:00 p.m. on November 6 through 1:00 a.m. on November 10.

Local closures will also be in place on the following streets:

  • East Capitol Street
  • State Street
  • South President Street
  • South Congress Street
  • South West Street
  • South Lamar Street
  • East Amite Street

Drivers are advised to slow down, stay alert for pedestrians, and anticipate congested roadways in and around downtown Jackson during the event.
