1 injured in downtown shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after a person was injured in a shooting in downtown Indianapolis Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 3 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of E. Georgia Street & S. Meridian Street on the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an individual with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. They were reported to be “awake and breathing,” police said.
