Anthony Horton, 42, and Maurice Orear, 22, were arrested and charged with felony murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy.
32-year-old Ronnie Fewell was also arrested in connection Oct. 21.
Around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 10, officers responded to a call to assist Medic at a motel on the 4800 block of Wallingford Street, near Woodlawn Road. The caller reportedly told 911 that there was blood around the victim, later identified as Ronald Neville, and that she didn’t think he was alive.
Homicide detectives responded after Medic pronounced Neville, 53, dead at the scene.
Court documents detail that video obtained from the surrounding area showed three men walking through a nearby parking lot to the victim’s room, where they forced their way in. After several seconds, the men quickly leave. One of them allegedly had a backpack with him that he was not seen with before he entered the room.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-8477 (TIPS) and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective.
