
TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A portion of the Tangipahoa River is reopening to the public as response efforts continue after the August explosion in Roseland.
According to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, the Tangipahoa River from Lees Landing south to Lake Pontchartrain reopened to the public on Friday, Oct. 31.
LDEQ officials said crews are continuing cleanup efforts in the river, and that a no wake zone remains from Highway 22 to Lake Pontchartrain.
