Docs: Zionsville man found with AI-generated child sex abuse material on phone

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — A Zionsville man previously convicted of possessing child pornography has been arrested after AI-created child sex abuse material was reportedly found on his phone during a search of his home.

According to court documents recently filed in Boone County, 38-year-old Christopher LaGrange was charged with:

• Five counts of possession of cihld sex abuse material, each a Level 5 felony
• One count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender, a Level 6 felony

In March 2024, LaGrange was sentenced to four years for possessing child pornography. According to previous reports, this comes after a neighbor provided law enforcement with a tip that LaGrange possessed child porn in February 2023.

On Tuesday, deputies with the Boone County Sheriff’s office, as well as Boone County Community Corrections, conducted a search of LaGrange’s Zionsville home on a sex offender verification call.

During a search of LaGrange’s cell phone, the documents allege that LaGrange reportedly had child sex abuse material in a folder within the cell phone’s photo gallery. Officials said around 100 images were located.

In an interview with LaGrange, he reportedly told law enforcement that the images were created using AI programs and apps, using prompts including “blonde doll with pigtails and sexual situations.”

“LaGrange advised that there were no real children depicted in the images and that he had saved them,” the documents said. “When asked how old the children in the images were, LaGrange stated they were ‘definitely not old enough.'”

According to court documents, a notice of intent to seek repeat sexual offender status was filed in LaGrange’s most recent case. The document references LaGrange’s previous conviction of possession of child pornography as the reason behind the intention to seek the status.
