1 dead, 1 critical following stabbing in downtown Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead and another is in critical condition following a stabbing at a gas station in downtown Indianapolis.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to the 400 block of Kentucky Avenue on a report of a person stabbed.

Police found two men with injuries consistent with stab wounds, both in critical condition. Both men were transported to Eskenazi Hospital, where the original suspect later died. The victim is in critical condition.

The incident originally started inside the gas station before reportedly spewing outside, according to IMPD.

IMPD believes this is an isolated incident that was solely between the victim and the suspect, with no one else being involved.
