Woman dies after being hit by a car in Northeast Portland, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman died after being hit by a car in Northeast Portland, authorities said.

Just before 8 p.m., the Portland Police Bureau said they responded to reports fo a crash involving a pedestrian and a car near Northeast 102nd Avenue between Northeast Pacific Street and Northeast Halsey Street in the Gateway area.

The pedestrian was dead at the scene. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators, PPB said.

Northeast 102nd Avenue is closed in both directions between Northeast Pacific Street and Northeast Halsey Street during the investigation by PPB’s Major Crash Team.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Portland police.
