“Our healing ministry extends beyond the bounds of providing healthcare to our patients and the communities we are privileged to serve,” said E.J. Kuiper, president and CEO, FMOL Health. “Providing access to vital nutrition and healthy foods aligns with our mission and commitment to the Greater Jackson Community, and we encourage other organizations to consider supporting those most in need during this time.”
With the possibility of a temporary suspension of November SNAP benefits set to affect 384,800 Mississippians, the donation to Stewpot Community Services will provide nutrition and help prevent hunger-related health impacts.
Stewpot currently serves around 700 underserved individuals monthly, via its pantry, Community Kitchen and Meals on Wheels program for homebound seniors. FMOL Health | St. Dominic also operates a free health clinic within the Stewpot footprint, offering primary care to low-income families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
