SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — A mobile home in Scott suffered extensive damage in a fire this morning, authorities said.

Scott Fire Department was dispatched to the Cypress Mobile Home Park just before 9 a.m. today. Firefighters arrived to “heavy fire” coming from a window of the home.

The fire, which caused significant damage to the kitchen and living room, was quickly extinguished, officials said.

The home was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators ruled the fire accidental, the result of an electircal short in one wall.

Firefighters from Carencro and Duson responded to assist, authorities said.
