SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – It is that time of year again, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) has concluded its fall prescription medicine “Drug Take Back Day”.

Saturday, October 25, the department conducted the “Take Back Day” at Sheriff’s Safety Town.

According to a Facebook post, they collected 103 pounds of unused prescription and over-the-counter medications during the event.

If you missed the official day, it is not too late to hand over your unwanted or expired medications.

The department says a drop box is available during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, at Government Plaza, located at 505 Travis Street in Shreveport.

Needles and liquids should never be placed in the drop box.

The next offical drug take back event is currently scheduled for sometime in the spring.
