Authorities searching for suspect in Vadnais Heights sexual assault

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a sexual assault that occurred Tuesday evening in Vadnais Heights.

Authorities say the assault occurred around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Centerville Road and Pondview Drive, between Highway 96 East to the north and Greenhaven Drive to the south. A woman was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect ran up behind her, forced her off the path and sexually assaulted her.

The woman ran to a nearby home for help and was brought to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Authorities have been searching the area, collecting evidence and interviewing possible witnesses.

According to investigators, the suspect is a white man in his mid-20s. He is 6 feet tall with a muscular build and has curly brown hair that is short on the sides. The man was wearing a black jacket, black pants and glasses, which the victim was able to take off of him during the attack. He did not have facial hair.
