71-year-old woman dies in Salem house fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 71-year-old Salem woman died in a house fire on Wednesday afternoon, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Fire crews responded to the house in the 4700 block of Oak Park Drive NE just after 12:30 p.m. and found the home engulfed in flames.

Lesa Lemons was found dead inside the home during the response, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Authorities say that it does not appear to be suspicious.
