According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Braulio H Campos, 26, of Beloit, Wisconsin, was driving southbound on Rural Street around 9:30 am when he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Illinois Route 72 and was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee going eastbound.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to Swedish American Hospital in Rockford for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Campos was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, disregarding an official traffic control device, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Campos was taken to the Ogle County Jail and then released on a notice to appear at a future court date.
