5 men arrested after meth, fentanyl found in Livingston Parish drug bust
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Five men in Livingston Parish were arrested after deputies found large amounts of narcotics during a drug bust.
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies investigated alleged drug dealer Darnell “Peanut” Jones, 50. He is accused of selling methamphetamine and fentanyl from a home on Herring Drive in Walker.
After securing a search warrant of the home, deputies recovered the following:
1,634.2 grams of cutting agent
218.8 grams of marijuana
203.2 grams of methamphetamine
28.1 grams of fentanyl
6.7 grams of speedball (a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl)
2.1 grams of crack cocaine
20 suboxone strips
blender containing fentanyl residue
packaging material
digital scales

Jones, along with Michael Corkern, 69, Danny Whitehead, 50, Henry Smith, 68, and Clifton Elkins, 52, were arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

Jones faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I, II, and III drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and creation/operation of a drug lab. His bond amount is set at $325,500.
Corkern was charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, manufacture/distribution of Schedule II drugs, manufacture/distribution of Schedule III drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has a bond amount set at $300,500, according to jail records.
Smith was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond amount is $10,500, jail records say.
Whitehead and Elkins face possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I, II, and III drugs charges and possession of drug paraphernalia. Their bond is set at $300,500.
