BATON ROUGE, La. (
Louisiana First) — A father-son duo was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a drug bust in Livingston Parish.
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were investigating an accused drug dealer, identified as Joseph “Abe” Kemp Sr., 60, in the city of Killian.
During the investigation, agents secured a search warrant for Kemp’s home in Springfield. The following items were seized after the search:
- 2,702.21 grams of marijuana
- 60.32 grams of methamphetamine
- 25.71 grams of MDMA tablets
- 19.4 grams of crack cocaine
- 9.5 grams of cocaine
- 8.5 grams of Fentanyl powder
- 79 dosage units of Suboxone
- 51 dosage units of Adderall
- 32 pressed Fentanyl pills (disguised as Oxycodone)
- 10 dosage units of Diazepam
- Packing material and digital weighing scales
- 17 firearms
- $1,272
Kemp Sr. and his son, Joseph Kemp Jr., 29, were arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Both were charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule III drugs, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor.
