New Orleans East crash Sunday leaves one dead

According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers were alerted at 4 p.m. of a crash in the 4300 block of Eastview Drive.

Responding officers arrived to find a man on scene with injuries. They also learned that a second vehicle involved, reportedly drove away. A description of the vehicle is unknown.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m.

No further details are available at this time as the crash remains under investigation.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
