Juvenile critically injured in hit-and-run crash on west side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A juvenile was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on the west side of Indianapolis Monday afternoon.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of West 34th Street and Allison Avenue around 4:11 p.m. to investigate a hit-and-run crash that had been reported. When police arrived at the scene, they located a juvenile who appeared to have been struck by a motorist.

IMPD confirmed that the juvenile was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition.

IMPD’s crash investigators responded to the area to examine the scene. Police have reported that they detained a person during their investigation of the crash. Officers are still working to determine what role, if any, the individual played in the crash.
