BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Investigators arrested a Denham Springs man accused of raping a 10-year-old girl when he was 17.
Jalonn Gant, 25, was charged with first-degree rape-victim under 13 years of age.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office to a possible sexual assault on June 27, 2022. According to an affidavit, Gant allegedly had sex with the victim in East Baton Rouge when he lived at the victim’s home in 2018.
APSO detectives obtained an arrest warrant for carnal knowledge of a juvenile. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on Aug. 30, 2022.
An arrest warrant was then requested for Gant in EBR Parish. The Denham Springs man was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, Oct. 23.
