According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 5:35 p.m. on October 24 along U.S. Highway 84 near County Road 464. Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed on wet roads when the driver lost control, veered off the roadway, and the car flipped.
During the crash, a 4-year-old passenger was ejected and was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say two children were in the backseat and properly secured in child safety seats. The driver sustained minor injuries, while the condition of the other child has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
