ORGINAL STORY: LAFAYETTE, LA (KLFY) – The Lafayette Police Department is currently on the scene of a major vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 100 block of Cameron Street, police said.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 7:08 p.m. where the pedestrian sustained critical injuries and has been transported to a local hospital.
As a result of the incident, the 100 block of Cameron Street is completely closed in both directions, extending to the Evangeline Thruway. Police advised motorists to seek alternative routes and anticipate traffic delays.
