LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Drivers in Lafayette Parish are advised to avoid West University Avenue after a major traffic accident caused a diesel spill.
Around 8 p.m., the Lafayette Police Department responded to a major traffic accident in the 2000 block of W University Ave.
Officials said he crash involved a semi-truck with a box trailer and two other vehicles, resulting in a significant diesel fuel spill.
All lanes of West University Avenue, between West Simcoe Street and Cameron Street are currently closed. Officials said motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
