LSP arrests police officer accused of running license plate info for family member

SPRINGHILL, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A police officer in Springhill was arrested after a Louisiana State Police investigation into her for criminal malfeasance.

On October 23, 2025, at around 5:30 p.m., Amandia Hamilton, 43, of Shongaloo, was arrested by members of the LSP Bureau of Investigation / Bossier Field Office. Investigators say the investigation started in September 2025 after they learned she provided unauthorized license plate query results to a family member for personal gain.

An arrest warrant was obtained through the 26th Judicial District Court, charging Hamilton with a single count of malfeasance in office. She surrendered to authorities on Thursday, October 23, and was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

LSP encourages the public to report suspicious criminal activity via an online reporting system. The reports are anonymous and securely submitted to the appropriate investigators.
