The couple is currently volunteering at the PGA championship in St. George, Utah to make sure everything stays up to par.
“What I do is try to take care of the needs of the [hole] captains,” Daris said. “Anything they need — quiet signs, flags, or if they need a bathroom break, I’ll take them and then run them back. Wherever I’m needed, I go.”
The couple arrives to Black Desert Resort at 6:30 a.m., and they leave at 7:30 p.m. They stay from the first tee to the final trophy.
This is the Rice’s second year volunteering at the Utah based tournament. They enjoy watching the spectators enjoy the game and the athletes achieve their goals.
“That’s what’s fun — watching people get a chance to see great golf and the thrill of athletes at the top of their game.” Daris said.
Daris said if he got to play a game with anyone, it would be his wife.
