NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Halloween is just a week away, and frightful fun is in full effect, all over town. Get ready for haunted houses, a vile virtual escape room, a Halloween-themed parade through the heart of the Quarter, and a kid-friendly spooky soiree in the French Market. Here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks!:
- First, experience the chilling virtual Halloween encounter: “Haunted”, a terrifying game at Zero Latency in the CBD. Step into a house of horrors: It’s an immersive thrill ride that’s part haunted house, part escape room and all virtual reality. Visit Zero Latency’s website to reserve your spot.
- Next, brave souls: head to The Mortuary in Mid-City for a haunted house experience in a historic 1872 grand Victorian mansion. Formerly a working funeral parlor, this year’s theme is “Origins of Evil,” featuring the feared Queen of the Night. Group tickets and VIP skip-the-line passes are available.
- This weekend’s Krewe of BOO! is more than a parade. Events include the Captain’s Party tomorrow night at the Toulouse Theater, the Zombie Run through the Warehouse District on Saturday morning, and the Monster Mash party after Saturday night’s parade!
- Finally, the family-friendly Boo Carré Halloween Haunt is Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25 in Dutch Alley in the French Market. Grab the family and dress up for a day of Halloween festivities. This free event includes a spooky second line, trick or treating, plus live music, and much more!
