Wanted: Suspect shoots and misses victim, police now search for armed man
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A woman is recovering after believing she was shot by a man police have identified as Derek Taylor.
On October 16, 2025, Shreveport police officers arrived at a scene of a reported shooting where a woman believed she was struck by gunfire after an argument that turned violent.
According to police, witnesses reported seeing Taylor fire a weapon, causing the victim to fall.
It was determined that the victim was missed by bullets but instead struck by debris.
Shreveport Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Derek Taylor for one count of attempted second-degree homicide.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
