FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A student was shot in a drive-by shooting near a Fresno college Wednesday night.

Police say two UEI college students were arguing outside their school, at the Manchester Mall, when a man in a silver sedan started shooting.

According to officers, a bullet struck one of the students.

When police arrived on scene, they found the 25-year-old victim hiding inside the mall with one gunshot wound to his lower body. He was transported to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

UEI College was placed on lockdown as a precaution, but according to police, the suspect immediately fled the area.

Police say the area will be blocked off for the next several hours.
