NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans infant is safe after being abducted Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Troopers with the Louisiana State Police were alerted by the New Orleans Police Department that a 5-month-old boy had been taken from his home on Washington Avenue around 6:38 p.m.
An Amber Alert was sent out around 12 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Through an investigation, troopers learned the child was taken by his non-custodial dad, 19-year-old Braydon Nix, after allegedly assaulting the child’s mother.
Hours later, troopers found the child safe but Mix remains on the run. The investigation remains ongoing.
Troopers are asking anyone who may know of Nix’s location to call NOPD Special Victims Section Child Abuse Unit detectives at 504-658-5267.
