CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – More than ten years later, a man is facing consequences after two adults have come forward regarding alleged sexual assault during their childhood.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) Special Victims Unit conducted an investigation into Walter Jeff Shadoin, 67, regarding allegations involving two victims, who, although now adults, were between 13 and 14 years old at the time of the abuse.
According to authorities, Shadoin exploited his role as a family friend and mentor to manipulate the victims between 2007 and 2010.. Investigators say he engaged in grooming behaviors, isolating the victims and involving them in conversations about sexual acts.
The case was developed after interviews with the victims, which prompted Detective Christopher Ardoin to interview Shadoin, leading to additional information.
Shadoin was then arrested for two counts of sexual battery, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.
A warrant for his arrest was approved by the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office and signed by Judge Donald Hathaway.
Shadoin surrendered to the Caddo Correctional Center on October 22 and was booked on the charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-675-2170.
