Update: Latest on a VERY SOGGY weekend
Any severe weather? The good news with this weekend’s disturbance is that it continues to look unlikely that we will have any widespread severe weather concerns. We will see some thunderstorms, but any issues with severe weather will be very isolated.
Rain timing: Futurecast shows that a few scattered showers will be possible on Friday. The rain will increase over the western half of the area on Friday night and will likely reach its peak in coverage and intensity during the day on Saturday. The threat of rain will continue on Sunday and could actually last into Monday or Tuesday.
Heavy rain still looks likely! Models continue to show that our area will receive several inches of rain. The latest 7-day outlook from WPC shows rainfall potential in the range of two to three inches. The Blend of Models shows that three to 4 inches will be possible.
Weather Worry Index 2 out of 10: I’m still not too concerned about this weekend’s rain. With the severe risk looking very low, this disturbance will probably bring more good than harm, as we need some rain. Consequently, today’s WWI will remain at 2 out of 10. Stay tuned!
